The dirty little secret about life and our plans is this....life doesn't care about your plan. How many time have you stopped and said, "This isn't the road I wanted." !! Once again your expectations are crushed, and this day, week, or month is chalked up as a failure. Now don't get me wrong...I'm not saying don't plan. But sometimes we conceive our plans and expectations to be earth shattering events, and then wonder why the earth didn't get the message. No that old earth just keeps on turning weather I want tomorrow to come or not. It's learning to ride the rotation.
In 1981, recently divorced, and overweight, I wanted to do something. I didn't know what...something big! Maybe sail on a marine research vessel for six months. Now that sounded cool! So I talked it over with friend, with coffee. [coffee as a component of right thinking, blog coming soon] My friend's son, a mere 20....At 28 I was now placing him in with the young ones, you know, nice to talk to but no source of gain...he was leaving the yard to ride his bike. "If you ever want to ride a bike cross country, let me know."
Those 13 words changed how I think. What an unknown, twitted idea....by the time He got back I asked when He wanted to leave. That twist was 4 months and 6,481.6 miles long.
